sadrži priče, poeziju, intervjue, eseje i članke.
U drugom broju imam dva priloga
ukupno 174.
1) Tu je moj opsežan naučni
rad pod naslovom „Thomas Ligotti and 'Lovecraft’s Dry Husk'“ („Tomas Ligoti
Fraza
Ligotijev omnibus kod Pingvina, SONGS OF A DEAD DREAMER + GRIMSCRIBE, gde on
maltene odriče taj uticaj, ili ga totalno minimizira. Ja, naravno, s time
stignem, tokom ovih dana, nedelja, meseci...
Dodatna poslastica: vi znate da
ja volim, gde god i kad god mogu, da sa sobom „povučem“ još nekog ovdašnjeg.
Ovog puta, moj esej ukrasio je svojim umetninama veliki naš ilustrator i
stripadžija, Boris Stanić: dve njegove originalne, ligotijevske
ilustracije krase moj prilog u ovom broju.
2) A to nije sve, jer u ovom izdanju
-How would you respond to the oft-repeated
notion that “Lovecraft is an adolescent phase one goes through”?
- In your essay “Chasing the Unknown“, you wrote: „I find his
best work more rewarding now than I did then.” Could you please elaborate on
this? What are the rewards that you find re-reading HPL today?
- How do you see your earliest Lovecraftian
tales from The Inhabitant of the Lake from today’s perspective?
- What has Lovecraft been to you, over the
course of your career? Did you feel “the anxiety of influence” and the need to
escape it?
- How did you come up with the idea of merging
pornographic and occult arcana in your story “Cold Print”? And, in general, how
are sex (which HPL shunned) and cosmic horror linked in your fiction?
- Tell me about your meta-fictional dialogues
with the genre’s past, e.g. in “The Voice of the Beach”, which can be seen as
an indirect re-imagination of some concepts from “The Colour out of Space”…?
- Dreams and oneiric/nightmarish imagery are
prominent in your work, e.g. in “The Tugging”: how much of this story was
inspired by actual dreams? And how big a role do dreams have in inspiring your
fiction in general?
- Lovecraft couldn’t have cared less about the
layered psychology of his characters, preferring „phenomena“ and atmosphere.
You, on the other hand, without neglecting the latter, often merged the
supernatural and cosmic with very realistic, psychologically motivated
characters. Can you discuss your preference?
ko zna gde, objaviću i na srpskom moje intervjue s majstorima filmskog i
književnog horora. Da smo živi i zdravi.
Evo kako izdavač najavljuje ovo izdanje:
Thursday at
noon eastern time HERE we're
offering our annual installment of NIGHTLANDS. This is immensely packed with
incredible talent.
Ligotti's
"The Unholy City" is a print version of the audio he performed
years ago with Durtro.
Bartlett,
Padgett, and German's work is all new.
All
non-fiction is new aside from Cardin's, which is reprinted
for an out-of-print Cadabra Records LP which will be new for most of you.
The Necronomicon
Press feature is worth the price of admission alone.
Ognjanović's
essay "Thomas Ligotti and "Lovecraft's Dry Husk" is a masterwork
in itself, which won't surprise readers of his SPECTRAL LIGHTS. It is also a
preview for his forthcoming study of Ligotti's fiction.
The total
print run is 600x.
200x
hardcovers will be available at $70 each and 200x soft at $36 each (remaining
numbers are reserved for wholesale).
The
hardcovers include a dust jacket this time around.
Nightlands is not only a study of classic and modern weird fiction, but a
celebration and nod to some of the greatest weird fiction zines out there:
Nyctalops, Whispers, Necronomicon Press, Weirdbook, Borderland, Dagon,
and so many more. Many of us grew up on these wonderful zines and this is a way
that Chiroptera Press can give back, as well as break new ground.
